SMART is a set of rules which set the the way the goals are set up, so it is possible at the end to asses if the goals have been achieved or not. The goals should be:
S – specific and concrete, i.e. they should be described exactly. In case we are able to answer the question what is the subject and the problem in question, then we met this criterion of specification.
M – measurable, quantifiable, which enables exactly express, follow and check the process and level of fulfillment. Here we can ask a question, e.g., how we recognize that we were successful.
A – acceptable, especially to us and all the concerned.
R – real and feasible, with respect to all needed sources. Ask ourselves a question if it is possible to achieve the goal with the sources we have.
T – “termed”, set the deadline. (zdroj: wikipedie).
